about

The Millionaires Anniversary Edition. It was 20 years ago today that Pure Grain, from the ashes of The Family Cat, released this Summer of 97 smash. Millionaires alongside Ringing Bell were two of the first songs that Fred and Chris wrote and recorded together as Pure Grain. Production was supplied at Milo Studios by Phil Vinall (Radiohead/Placebo/Elastica) who become a lifelong friend of the duo. Millionaires was released in July on the band's Supple Pipe label. Although the song went on to achieve BBC Radio 1 playlist, as the song was on their own label it never had the machinery behind it to go on to be the major hit it should have been. Chris and Fred went on to form Jack Adaptor and released their debut album in 2004. Millionaires is now available to all for this first time since that Summer of 97. Hope you enjoy
