Jack Adaptor had signed a 2 album deal with Schnitzel Records. Both records had been finished in 2003. The first album had been released to critical acclaim and they had just come off touring Europe with The Waxwings.The year is 2005
Schnitzel had decided to hold back release of the 2nd JA album, Road Rail River, much to the frustration of Fred and Chris.
Whilst waiting and rather than twiddle their thumbs our intrepid duo created this 24 song, lo fi masterpiece that depicts a breakdown to come.

In spite of the frustration with the label this was the some of the most fun JA had making a record, most of it was recorded in London Fields and City Road at their homes.They had only recently acquired the technology to do so and Phil Vinall had dumped all his vintage synths at Chris's for safe keeping. The recordings were then taken to Camberwell Studios where Chris Wyles and Mat Hempell help mix. During the process Chris and Fred had not been in the same room until the mix stage.

What emerges is a Kaleidoscopic, stream of consciousness record where the band have been encourage not to filter their instincts.
The songs shine throughout and each one of them is a mini jewell that might never have been discovered until now.

A Wizard, A True Star for the 21st Century.

Over the course of their near 30 years of writing and recording it remains the boys favourite record. It might well nowl be yours too.
